It is also important to wash your other bedding, although you typically don’t have to wash it quite as often. Any blankets that you use on your bed should be washed relatively frequently – particularly if they come in contact with your skin.

If you have a large comforter on your bed, try taking it to a laundry mat to wash it. They usually have oversized washing machines and dryers that are designed to accommodate bulky items like comforters and sleeping bags. This is a far better option than trying to cram it in your washing machine or dryer at home.

You should also wash your pillows at least twice a year. Throwing them in the washing machine not only helps remove dead skin flakes, saliva, and other contaminants but it also leaves them a lot fluffier. This can provide a much more comfortable sleeping environment when you go to bed at night.
